The USA Cycling Cyclo-Cross Nationals in 2009 were a blast. The 2010 version is shaping up to be even bigger and better than last year. More racers, more races and more parties! Cross Culture: Bike + Art Love is a collection of bicycling art inspired events all held in conjunction with the 2010 cyclo-cross nationals championships in Bend, Oregon. Cross Culture: Bike + Art Love encompasses a multi-event arts celebration scheduled during Cyclo-cross nationals. There are a number of ways to join the Bend community in expressing our love of the bicycle. A Friday night community art walk, ARTCRANK and storytelling events are just a few of the offerings lined up to complete your Cyclo-cross Nationals agenda of fun.

Arts events will kick-off on Thursday evening at Portello Wine Bar in NorthWest Crossing with the Spoke-N-Word storytelling event at 8:30pm.

We've invited some of our favorite bike enthusiasts, builders and artists to partner with local businesses in planning an all-out evening of creative hurrah on Friday, December 10th. The community art walk will feature ARTCRANK a nationally recognized but locally produced poster art exhibit and party for bike people.

• 6pm-10pm - 2010 VeloSprints Championships at Silver Moon Brewing presented by Cascade Couriers and Bend Velo - Racers will go head-to-head for 400 meters of fork-mounted roller madness! Mens and Womens Division will be offered. Registration will open at 6pm and close promptly at 6:45 to ensure racing begins at 7pm sharp.
• 7:30pm-9pm - Enjoy a rare Q&A session with some of the best: Adam Craig, Ryan Trebone, Carl Decker, Ben Thompson and Damien Schmitt will all be on hand at Rebound Physical Therapy in their west Bend location. There will also be a review of the "Rehabilitation of Adam Craig" all while enjoying Beer, Food, Raffles and more Beer!

• Sunnyside Sports: Stop by the bike shop on Thursday, Dec. 9 for the Pedros/Lazer Helmet Athlete Night, a meet-and-greet with pro riders Tim Johnson, Jamey Driscoll, Jeremy Powers, Amy Dombrowski and Maureen Bruno-Roy. Also on display will be kinetic metal sculptures by Chris Cole are heavily influenced by his two decades as a mechanic in the bike industry. Cole incorporates reclaimed and salvaged materials and in the mechanisms that create motion in his pieces. We'll have a live music performance by Wild Rye too!

  Just a few paces from the start line at cyclo-cross nationals, kids big and little are invited to create personalized cheering materials at The Art Station in the Old Mill District. Participants can paint a cowbell, create a flag or make a poster to use to cheer on mom or dad or your favorite racers during the cyclo-cross championships. Cost is $5 per family. • On Friday, December 10th at High Desert Gallery we'll host "Bike On Art.” Jacob Norris, a Central Oregon emerging artist and bike enthusiast will entertain us with a painting demonstration. We'll have refreshments, Cycles Gladiator wine and some holiday treats. Come join in on the fun downtown and meet and watch Jacob create his ever popular original paintings. You might even find his bike parked inside the gallery! High Desert Gallery is located across from Thump Coffee at the base of the Oxford Hotel at 10 NW Minnesota Avenue in downtown Bend Oregon.
