Whether you’re looking to train with the pros to get in a shape for a tournament, or play a casual match with friends and family, Bend has state-of-the-art tennis facilities and excellent instructors that are available for clinics or private lessons.
There are eight public courts available on a first come first serve basis through Bend Metro Park and Recreation District. Four outdoor tennis courts are nestled among the native conifers in Juniper Park. There are also two courts at Sylvan Park and Summit Park on Awbrey Butte. Bend Metro organizes five weekend tournaments throughout the summer and provides youth tennis lessons during the months of June, July and August.
The courts at Central Oregon Community College are in a gorgeous setting with sweeping mountain views, but if these are full, Bend Senior High School, Summit High School and Mountain View High School have public courts.
For those looking to improve their game, a number of private clubs in the area offer instruction for non-members. The Athletic Club of Bend provides lessons, clinics and drill sessions to non-members who sign up in advance.
Drop into Topspin Tennis on Century Drive if you are looking for new equipment or need to have your racket restrung. The employees at Topspin also have a wealth of information about local leagues, tournaments and clinics.
