Here in Bend, we don’t just celebrate winter. We throw a massive party for it, complete with food, live music, snow sculptures, ice carving, kids’ games, RailJam, and a lot more.
You can see it in their eyes. skiers and snowboarders are getting twitchy. They’re donning wool caps, gazing at the sky, and asking each other important questions like, “is that a snow cloud?” and “when will Mt. Bachelor open?” and “do these ski pants make my butt look big?”...
Because I have the coolest job on the planet, I got to have my first paddleboarding experience with the race directors for Bend’s two major standup paddle races...
Until the Cascade Lakes Highway is open where you can access hundreds of stunning hikes to waterfalls and placid lakes, there are 3,300 miles of ancient Juniper forests and extinct lava tubes...
Summer's not over ... there's still a chance to enjoy the last bit of summer fun under the big, bright Bend sun over Labor Day and through the month of September. Come on over for one last hurrah to enjoy an outdoor concert along the river (Willie Nelson sings live Sept. 17), catch a wiener dog race, run a mountain trail, or sample some of Bend's finest brews.
Summer is rockin' in Bend with plenty of new and exciting events, outdoor concerts, activities and more like the Bend Ale Trail and stand up paddle surfing.
