Play Pickleball in Bend, Oregon
OK, we’ll admit it sounds like a sport someone made up after too many stops on the Bend Ale Trail. But pickleball is one of the fastest growing sports in America.
So what is pickleball?
Played on a small space the size of a badminton court, pickleball uses a low net; just 34-inches at the center. It’s played with a perforated plastic baseball similar to a whiffle ball, and wood or composite paddles. The simplicity of the game makes it easy for beginners of all ages, but it can also be a fast-paced game for competitive athletes.
There are plenty of spots to play pickleball in Bend, Oregon. Courts are popping up at traditional tennis venues like Broken Top, which has converted underused courts to Pickleball venues. The Bend Parks & Recreation District and certain parks have facilities with new courts to accommodate the demand. Check out the Bend Pickleball Club website or follow them on Facebook for a listing of places to play.
