Bend WinterFest is a weekend long event celebrating winter sports, art, music and culture. The 2010 Bend festival will take place February 12-14th in Bend’s Old Mill District.
In addition to the ice carving exhibitions, fireworks, Mojo Music Eruption in the Festival Center, children’s activities at Snowflake Village, the ever popular U.S. Cellular snowboard and ski rail jam and ice skating, Bend WinterFest will feature an expanded Winter Wine Walk, winter light show, a larger WinterFest Marketplace, and the exciting cross country ski sprint races.
Metal Mulisha will ride into Bend Winterfest on Saturday, February 13, 2010. This world-famous motocross team brings some of its best riders, including Redmond resident Justin Homan, to Bend Winterfest. Metal Mulisha will showcase their sickest tricks and death-defying stunts during three Big Air shows during the day.
Metal Mulisha has been pushing the limits of Freestyle Motocross and Big Air competitions since the late 1990’s, and has become the biggest and best motocross team in the world. Bend Winterfest 2010 will feature Redmond’s Justin Homan, freestyle motocross veteran. The eighth athlete in the world to complete a backflip in competition, Homan has competed in the finals of the Summer X, Winter X and Gravity games for seven straight years and has won several freestyle motocross competitions.
Bend WinterFest attracted more than 25,000 visitors in 2009, and we expect it to grow again in 2010. We attribute the growing attendance to the variety of activities. After arriving in town, families can enjoy the fireworks together on Friday evening and then adults can explore The Old Mill District while sampling wines from a variety of wineries at the Winter Wine Walk. The kids can hang out at the U.S. Cellular Rail Jam and then join up with their parents to watch the exciting cross country ski sprint races or head to the Mojo Music Eruption or Festival Center to enjoy some great entertainment.
Bend WinterFest is a celebration of local art, culture and winter sports in our community and a fun, creative event for all to enjoy!
