Central Oregon and Bend Oregon Calendar of Events

Central Oregon volunteers will read the name, age and hometown of every soldier killed in Afghanistan since 2001 and in Iraq since 2003.

In 2005 the Bend Elks started the Memorial Day youth baseball tournament and have quickly turned it into one of the greatest tournaments in the Northwest. Elements such as the magnificent back drop of the Cascade Mountains & full support from Triple Crown Sports, Bend Metro Parks and Recreation & the local high school baseball programs make this a perfect combination of refined tournament management, natural beauty and great facilities.

Central Oregon has one of the largest per-capita number of breweries of any region around, and on top of that a thriving, exploding beer scene—so it’s only natural that we also have a Central Oregon Beer Week, a week-long celebration of Bend and Central Oregon’s amazing beer culture!

Join the Deschutes Land Trust and Daniele McKay for a geology hike around Whychus Canyon Preserve. We’ll hike down into the canyon carved by Whychus Creek and take a look at the ancient volcanic rocks exposed there. Then we’ll hike back up to a rimrock outcrop of welded tuff for lunch and spectacular views of the Cascades. Registration opens 1 month prior to the event
