Santa Sightings Around Bend
Celebrity Santa in the Old Mill
Get your photo snapped with one of the biggest celebs of the season...Santa himself! It's free to sit on Santa's lap and $10-$15 for professional photos provided by Studio Laval. Parents can join in on the fun by guessing the Celebrity Santa of the day--it could be a local, state or county official as well as a local personality behind that white beard. Be sure to make time for a winter horse-drawn carriage ride while you are there.
When: Daily from December 19-23

Downtown Bend
Visits with Santa are available every Saturday in downtown Bend. Stroll the decorated downtown streets to get your holiday spirits in full swing. Shop for unique gifts, stop by Goody's or Powell's Sweet Shoppe to satisfy your sweet tooth, and then grab an incredible lunch at one of the many downtown restaurants.
When: Every Saturday until Christmas
Where: Capell's Plaza, located at the corner of Wall St. & Franklin Ave.

Spend Your Holidays with the Outlaws
Enjoy a three hour journey back into the 1800s  where you'll meet colorful characters from the wild west while noshing on a delicious dinner aboard the Crooked River Dinner Train. The western theme train chugs along the old Crooked River Valley railway revealing awe-inspriring views of jagged rim-rock and lush fields where it's not unusual to spot wildlife grazing.
The Crooked River Dinner Train offers special holiday excursions and rates over Christmas and New Year's Eve.

Sen-Sational Saturdays at the High Desert Musuem
Sense-Sational Saturdays feature dramatic encounters with wildlife, hands-on crafts and activities, stories,  games, and demonstrations. The program is geared for kids primarily from kindergarten through sixth-grade with their parents or guardians.
Best of all, the museum has lowered their admission rates for the winter months.
December 13 - Creatures of the Night: Learn about the animals that are most active at night. Live animal encounters too!
January 17 - Amazing Animals: Hands-on, family fun designed around the upcoming exhibit Bears and Wolves: Living with Predators.
February 14 - Native Americans: Explore Native American culture of the High Desert. Participate in crafts that explore the Native American way of life.
When: 10-3pm Where: High Desert Museum
Cost: FREE for members or with paid admission
Fun Factor: This is NOT your run-of-the-mill museum experience!
