Celebrate Spring! I can’t think of a better way to celebrate the return of the sun, warm weather and long days than with music, wine, and art at the Northwest Crossing Bend Spring Festival.
Kicking off the festivities Friday evening, April 16th, the Art, Wine and Music Hop (6-8pm) is a family friendly event showcasing the best Central Oregon has to offer. Local businesses in the Northwest Crossing Square will keep their doors open late to host artists, live music, food, wine and beer.
On-site childcare is available through the Munchkin Manor.
Friday’s Music Lineup:
The Groove Merchants – Riley’s Market
Bare Roots – Umpqua Bank
Sarah Ruzicka / Travis Allen String Quartet – BICA Gallery
Laurel Brauns – Portello
Andrew Cooper – Takara
Glenn and Greg Topliff – Pisano’s
Irene Goodnight – Sage Cafe
Continuing through the weekend (April 17-18th), the Bend Spring Festival features a jam-packed agenda and has an element for everyone in the family.
Rock climbing, the Wanderlust GPS Eco Challenge and a bicycle obstacle course will occupy the adventurous spirits. Greenthumbs will enjoy the Central Oregon Master Gardener Demos and cultural aficionados will spend the afternoon wandering through the Middle-Eastern style open-air market.
The Clear 101.7 Mainstage will keep the music coming with an impressive line-up of musical talent from Bend, the Pacific Northwest and across the nation. The Fun Children’s Area will keep your little ones laughing, playing and smiling; engaged in music, dance, inflatable rides, gardening activities, face painting and more.
And the celebrating does not end! Join Bend’s Environmental Center for the 21st Annual Earth Day Celebration, Street Fair and Procession of the Species Parade! Starting at 11am on April 24th, art, music, live performance, interactive displays and costumes will fill the streets of downtown Bend (In front The Environmental Center on Kansas Ave, between Lava and Bond).
If ideal spring weather and scenic landscape isn’t enough to get you motivated to lace up your running shoes, perhaps one of Bend’s organized running events will. Whether you are an elite level racer or training for your first 5k; Bend’s Running Calendar has an event for you, so make a plan to come experience one of Oregon’s best trail running spots.
