WORLD-CLASS, EPIC & FAMILY-FRIENDLY MOUNTAIN BIKE TRAILS IN BEND, OREGON

Once you arrive here, you'll see why Mountain Bike Action magazine named Bend, Oregon the best Mountain Bike Town in the country. At last check, Bend laid claim to over 277 miles of singletrack with more being built every day. A long awaited downhill mountain bike park opened in Bend, Oregon. Mt. Bachelor has been busy working hard on a downhill mountain bike park featuring chair lift operated trail access that allows for quick and easy rides uphill and exhilarating rides downhill over natural and constructed terrain. For hours of operation, bike safety equipment checklist, and lift ticket prices, go to Mt. Bachelor's website.

As always, we encourage safe riding practices. Never leave home without an adequate supply of water, a first-aid kit, and a riding buddy or four. Trail etiquette is important, too. If you've got your bike, and you're confident in your abilities, head over to the Central Oregon Trail Alliance website or Bendtrails.org to get the lay of the land, and plan your route. Once you're done, pat yourself on the back and reward yourself with a Central Oregon brew

Been curious about fat bikes and thinking about trying fat biking on the snow? Well, Bend is the epicenter for it. It was practically invented here. These funny looking bikes with really fat and knobby tires allow you to traverse across all kinds of terrain --  from soft sand to soft snow. You'll find mountain bikers shredding snow covered mountain bike trails all over Central Oregon -- from Phil's Trail to Peterson Ridge. If you're ready to try before you buy, stop into Hub Cyclery in downtown where you'll be able to "talk trails" while enjoying a free beer from their in-store tap.
