2013 Bend Oktoberfest Details


We will offer traditional Bavarian foods including FOUR types of brats-(classic mild (white) with a touch of sage, smoked with garlic and onion, spicy garlic with black pepper and paprika, and extra hot with onion, garlic and enough hot pepper to make your nose run!), Schnitzel (stuffed w/ chicken & cheese),  Knödel (dumplings), Jager Meatballs (meatballs soaked in spices and Jägermeister), Leberkäse (ground turkey served w/ mustard sauce), Pommes frites (potatoes w/ ketchup & mayo) & more. Desserts like Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte, (black forest cake w/ cherries), Kreppel (doughnut holes filled w/ jam), Bienenstich (loosely interpreted as a cinnamon roll w/ caramelized almond topping) & more will also be served. Food will be provided by Bend eateries including downtown restaurants. Guilty pleasures will included fried Snickers and Twinkies from Deep Fried Happiness, sweet ice from Hawaiian Shaved Ice, tasty Kettle Korn and cotton candy.

Throughout the event folks can sample traditional Bavarian style music, beers, wines, and foods.


We will be featuring local brews from several of our Central Oregon breweries serving their best Oktoberfest brews and other ales. Breweries include Boneyard Beer, 10 Barrel BrewingBend Brewing CompanyDeschutes Brewery, and Phat Matt’s Brewing CompanyThe Wine Shop & Beer Tasting Bar will be serving up German and Austrian wines!

All beer servings are pint pours of brew! You must purchase a Bend Oktoberfest stein to try the brews. We’ll have our yellow steins, limited edition ceramic steins, and VERY limited edition Oktoberfest Silipints!*

*Note: Silipints & ceramic steins go quickly so come Friday night & grab one!


The Phoenix Inn & Suites Oktoberfest Games will feature absurd games of skill for prizes including yodeling, hammerschlagen (race to hammer a nail into a custom table), stein holding contest, a costume contest, Medieval Swordplay, The Wiener Dog Parade, and the Wiener Dog Races.

Parent’s Night Out

Friday & Saturday night Kids Art Event
The School of Enrichment, an independent school  focusing on early childhood development, will be hosting a Parent’s Night Out at: Earth*Fire*Art, 119 Oregon Avenue. Parents will be able to drop off their kids aged 3-10 for an evening of great Oktoberfest inspired art activities. Sign up here!
