Deschutes Land Trust is a nonprofit organization and nationally accredited land trust whose mission is to work cooperatively with landowners to conserve land for wildlife, scenic views and local communities. The Trust is made up of people just like you; business owners, families, hikers, hunters, all working together to protect the outdoor spaces that make Central Oregon a truly incredible place to live and to visit. The organization’s vision is healthy lands that support diverse populations of native plants and wildlife; communities that are closely engaged with the land, that value the natural world, treat it with respect and are invested in its futures; and a region that, even as it grows, retains its natural attributes forever. The public is invited to learn more about Deschutes Land Trust by visiting any of its protected and conserved lands across the region or by participating in one of its many scheduled events. During the winter, Nature Nights offer monthly talks about various nature-related topics and are held at the Tower Theatre in downtown Bend. When the weather warms up, regularly scheduled guided hikes give participants an opportunity to personally experience and learn about the land around them and how it can be preserved for generations to come.
