HOW DO I GET AROUND THE BEND ALE TRAIL?
One of the most asked questions is how do I get around Bend to do the Bend Ale Trail? Some, but not all, of the Bend Ale Trail is definitely bikeable and walkable. If you have a bit of extra time, make sure to visit some of the outlying breweries. Many of the breweries are within a few square miles, with several near downtown and the Old Mill District areas of Bend. We don’t recommend driving if you plan to sample all of the tasty beer. There are a number of tour companies who will do the driving for you, or you can call a cab.
The Bend Brew Bus will pick you up at your Bend home or hotel and take you on a beerventure through four of the Bend Ale Trail’s fantastic Bend breweries. They offer a behind-the-scenes experience along with some Bend area background and highlights. Tours include beer tastings at each of the four breweries and appetizers at one brewery stop. Reservations are required so plan ahead.
You can pedal a bicycle made for 14 on the Bend Ale Trail! The Cycle Pub of Bend incorporates two favorite Bend past times, bikes and beer! Appearing much like a trolley or San Francisco cable car, The Cycle Pub adds a new twist — riders actually provide the horsepower by pedaling this 14 passenger “bike”, while enjoying the various sights and attractions of Bend along the way. They’ve recently added two more bar/bike hybrids to their fleet which require a few less feet to pedal.
Celebrate the open air and the end of prohibition with Let It Ride Electric Bikes’ Brewdie Tour. Saddle up on your electric bike and let your guide show you around bike-friendly neighborhoods sharing tidbits about Bend history and culture. You’ll sample tasty local craft beer and snacks at several breweries along the way.
Want to lead your own tour by bike? Head to our bike rentals page to find the nearest place to rent your piece of freedom on two wheels.
Another way to get around is by trolley. The Bend Trolley can take you and nine of your friends (or more) on a Pub Crawl through Bend on an 1800’s style trolley car.
Hitting the Bend Ale Trail for a bachelor party or another private engagement? Bend’s Party Bus has your first-class transportation complete with flat screen TV, LED laser light show, stereo sound system, and more. They also do daily brew tours, so call for schedule info.
There is no purchase required (but we do have a few rules here) to participate in the Bend Ale Trail. If you don’t follow the rules, we can’t guarantee your prize!
