July 27-29 – Mark Shelton, of the Seneca People and Honorary Chinook Contemporary Painter, Mixed-Media Works in Collaged Paper and Acrylic, show and reception at Raven Makes Gallery, Sisters, Oregon.
Mark Shelton creates intense color fields and textures by layering bits of exotic papers in the construction of his Native American subjects. His distinct collages are further enhanced with boldly applied acrylic and his creations capture moments of traditional identity—offering a prayer, weaving a blanket, reflecting upon sacred waters.
Artists receptions during Hood Avenue Art Strolls, from 4:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m., with exhibitions and sales continuing Saturday 10:00 to 5:00 through Sunday, 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
