Blossom has recently been fulfilling her namesake – with roots in Trinidad and Tobago – she has bloomed in the Pacific Northwest’s music scene.
Born into a musically inclined family, she embraced the stage naturally at the age of 12. For many years she performed alongside her uncle with his traveling steel drum band.
Upon moving to Portland, she has developed the identity of a unique songstress. Her first serious moments of vocal talent were as a backup singer for an R&B artist in 2011 which led her to write songs of her own. Blossom’s jazzy neo-soul inspired voice and meaningful lyrics have found her in the favor of Portland’s underground hip-hop scene.
In 2019 she dropped her much anticipated debut album Maybe that has been celebrated in review. Listen to it here, and in person on March 5th at The Suttle Lodge.
CORY LIMUACO TRIO
All having grown up as “90’s babies”, CLT brings something to the table within the realm of jazz that is diverse, original, and fresh in regards to musicality, style, and so much more. Jazz is often thought of something that lays on the lines of traditional swing. The CLT aims to bring exactly that; with a modern, contemporary flare that will have the listener automatically engaged. The incorporation of what is thought of to be traditional jazz, mixed in with the dozens of other musical influences each band member has been exposed to being alive at a time where genres of music are constantly meshing, creates a one of a kind experience for the listener. In listening, you may see glimmers and even main inspirations of your favorite style of music that we have taken and inserted it into the realm of contemporary jazz and improvisation.
The Cory Limuaco trio is comprised of three individuals who seek transparent musical experiences that are rooted in the family of improvisation. Playing a mixture of contemporary jazz, rnb, and traditional straight ahead, the CLT aims to achieve high levels of musicality and camaraderie through the mediums of space and creation.
