Monkey Face trail half marathon, half relay, and 4 mile race, staged at Smith Rock State Park in Terrebonne, Oregon, features scenic views of Monkey Face and Central Oregon’s high desert. Enjoy a glorious race with well stocked aid stations, complimentary post-race refreshments for participants, awards, and more. Smith Rock State Park, located just outside of the adventurers dream city of Bend, Oregon, is an exquisite place to participate in the Pink Buffalo Racing Monkey Face race. Running on 100% paved trails, participants will complete two loops of the Smith Rock State Park trail system. Relay teams will each complete one loop. Beginning at a starting elevation of 2,731 feet, be prepared for some of the most majestic views ever seen on a race course. The total elevation gain for both loops is 2,185 feet. The name of the event, Monkey Face, comes from the unique rock formation that is in the shape of a monkey’s face, which will be visible a two points on the half marathon courseAlso available is the 4 mile run or walk, beginning at Rim Rock Trail at 2,822 feet of elevation, a steady descent into the canyon will be a welcome start as participants gear up for a challenging 647 feet of elevation gain over less than a half-mile.
