Experience the fun and adventure of rock climbing at Smith Rock State Park.

This half-day excursion is designed for families and first-time climbers. Guides with Smith Rock Climbing School will explain the techniques and mechanics of climbing, giving everyone a chance to feel confident trying something new. In addition to climbing, Dr. Laura Ferguson, curator of the exhibition Ascent: Climbing Explored, will share the history of the sport at Smith Rock. You’ll receive a pass to the High Desert Museum to enjoy the exhibit that afternoon or another day.

Please bring snacks, lots of water, and $5 for a day-use parking permit (annual Oregon State Park permits also accepted). Ages 8 and older.

Meet at Smith Rock State Park.
