Heat up with Tumalo Creek this winter during the annual Dutch Oven Cooking Clinic!
At face value a Dutch oven is a thick-walled, usually cast iron cooking pot with a tight-fitting lid. It could be likened to a campfire slow cooker. During their innumerable river rafting and kayaking trips, Tumalo Creek Kayak & Canoe staff have developed a myriad of culinary methods and recipes designed specifically for Dutch ovens.
Pineapple upside-down cake, apple pie, chicken and dumplings, eggplant parmesan, roasted veggies and Owyhee bacon loaded cornbread are just some of the dishes sampled at past Dutch oven cooking clinics.
Join Tumalo Creek for an evening of tasty exploration and share in the possibilities of campfire cooking on a river trip, during a campout or in your own backyard.
