Presented by the Coalition for the Deschutes and Tumalo Creek Kayak and Canoe

Join us for an evening of adventure and personal insight as Susan Conrad shares her passion for kayaking and stories of her journey of a lifetime.

In spring 2010, Susan Conrad launched a journey of the sea and soul. That journey took her north to Alaska where she paddled the 1,200 mile ribbon of water known as the Inside Passage, and inward as she discovered the depths of her own strength and courage. Susan covered marathon distances for weeks on end in her 18-foot sea kayak. She forged friendships with quirky people in the strangest of places, and she pretended not to be intimidated by 700-pound grizzly bears and 40-ton whales. She lived her dream.

Doors open at 5 pm – food and beverages are available in Father Luke’s room. Live music by Pitchfork Revolution starts at 5:30 pm. Presentation begins at 6:30 pm followed by a raffle. Susan is an EXPED representative and is bringing some great items! All proceeds benefit the Coalition for the Deschutes.

About The Pitchfork Revolution – Oregon’s Feistiest Bluegrass

The Pitchfork Revolution
There often comes a time in society when good people have to raise their collective Pitchforks and kick some Kleptocratic tail. We hope to play the soundtrack to that worthy cause. In the meantime, we will keep on playing your party, pub or theater into a freedom lovin’ frenzy.

The Pitchfork has always been an inclusive operation and we are lucky to have all the players that have joined us over the years.

John Lucey – Banjo
The part of our band that makes Bluegrass, well, Black. Ninjo. He’s only been in a couple fights from stage and they weren’t his fault. He didn’t start them but he certainly ended them. He shreds the banjo deeper and darker than a Virginia forest on a new moon.

Jayson Bowerman – Fiddle
Usually hits stage seconds after a river swim. Jayson’s violin can be sultry-sweet or psycho-shred. A true artist on an instrument or inside of one–check out his Bowerman Guitars!

Ethan Ebersold – Guitar
Reluctant front man/wall-flower. But he can write a tune you will be singing the next morning and pick a g’tar with a flavor all his own.

Joe Schulte – Mandolin
Probably Central Oregon’s busiest string musician. Seriously. Shredder.

Benji Nagel
From Sisters OR, Benji brings the true mountain flavor to this band. He’s a busy player in the local scene for a variety of great acts and also a world-class farmer and father.
