The greater sage grouse faces many pressures in the High Desert. West Nile virus, first detected in Oregon in 2005, is one lesser-known threat to this iconic bird of the sagebrush steppe ecosystem. Emily Weidner, a U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service biologist, will discuss her research into this disease.
