BEND, ORE. – The anglers coming to Bend, Ore. this week for the Fly Fishing Team USA National Championships will be catching so many fish that some of the stories told afterward might actually be true. The first, three-hour session starts at 9 am, Thursday, May 31st, and the awards ceremony will take place on Saturday, June 2nd. Waters which will be fished by competitors include the upper Deschutes River, Crane Prairie reservoir, South and North Twin Lakes, and Lava Lake. The top 15 anglers will win an official spot on FFTUSA, and the top five anglers, plus an alternate will qualify to represent FFTUSA at the next two World Fly Fishing Championships. This week’s performance is a critical to those hoping to represent the U.S., and they are excited to be fishing near Bend.
