Crooked River Open Pastures (C.R.O.P.) Free Farm Tour
C.R.O.P., Crooked River Open Pastures, a project of the Crook County Small Farm Alliance, is a series of events taking place throughout the Crooked River Basin at local small farms. CROP Farm Tours are free, on-farm events where families can experience Central Oregon farming and ranching. Seasonal agricultural products can be purchased at each venue. All events are from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. on established Saturdays. Passports are available for attendees. Collect 7 stamps from the various host farms and venues to be entered to win a basket of local products. These free farm tours and rotating farmers markets are a project of the Crook County Small Farm Alliance and the High Desert Food & Farm Alliance (HDFFA). HDFFA is a 501(c)3 non-profit serving Crook, Deschutes and Jefferson Counties. Their mission is to support a community-based food system in Central Oregon to increase access to fresh healthy food, support sustainable farm land use, and foster relationships among farmers and consumers.
