Grin and Bear It 5k and 10k Run/Walk
Held the first Saturday in March, the Grin and Bear It 5K and 10K race attracts over 500 runners and walkers leading them through Bend’s Old Mill District and ending at the Les Schwab Amphitheater for a day filled with family fun games, a 5K & 10K run/walk as well as a 1-mile family walk/run culminating with an awards ceremony at center stage. Awards will be given to the fastest overall male and female, and the top three finishers in each age category for the 5K & 10K runs will receive a ribbon. Ribbons will be given to ALL participants in the Family Fun Run. All participants will be eligible for prize drawings. All proceeds from this event will support Healthy Beginnings’ 12-point kid inspection clinics – health, dental, behavior, vision, car seat safety, nutrition, hearing, development, concepts, motor, speech, community resources, and emergency preparedness – at locations scheduled throughout Central Oregon. The 501(c)3 nonprofit organization was incorporated in 1997, and for more than twenty years has provided free screenings and referrals to health, education and behavior services for young children and their families in Central Oregon.
