Double Happiness Chinese restaurant is located on Highway 20 on Bend’s east side, and they say you’re “welcome to experience the best meals in our fairyland!” I’m not sure about you, but eating in a fairyland sounds pretty swank, and they promise great taste, great selection and great service. Reviewers consistently mention how friendly the staff is and how generous the portions are. Their menu is lengthy, featuring dishes from a variety of Chinese regions, including including Szechuan, Cantonese, Mandarin and Hunan. They serve lunch and dinner daily, opening at 11:30 a.m. weekdays and staying open until 9:30 p.m. most nights. They do a brisk business in take-out dining during dinner and offer a fairly extensive lunch menu on which all items are $8.95 (they come with rice). Their children’s menu features sweet ‘n’ sour pork or chicken and pork or shrimp with fried rice. They have a full bar and do not take reservations.
