Snuggled in between the trees on Colorado Avenue in Bend, Palate A Coffee Bar has everything you could want in a neighborhood coffee house. Warm, as in the cozy fireplace that’s stoked all day during chilly months, and warm wood on the walls, courtesy of deconstructed palates (hence the name). Friendly, as in sit at one of the window seats and strike up a conversation with your neighbor. Whether he or she is a local or just passing through, you’re sure to learn something that will make you smile. And of course, amazing coffee, as in baristas who proudly serve hand crafted espresso drinks featuring a rotating menu of Coava Coffee, responsibly sourced from sustainable growers around the world and then roasted right here in the Northwest. Palate also serves local tea, kobucha, beer, pastries, and hot bowls of Picky Oats from the folks at Bend-based Picky Bars. On weekends you might even hear some live music from great local artists. And on warm days, there’s no better way to spend a little time than on Palate’s patio with your favorite pooch and your favorite drink.
