R.A.D. Camps explores over 50 unique summer locations and operates under a special use permit in Deschutes and Willamette National Forests. Here at R.A.D. Camps we have designed programs that give kids, ages 7-17, the opportunity to explore pristine destinations while learning about their natural surroundings. R.A.D. Camps emphasizes fun, free play, camaraderie, and an appreciation for the natural world.
A typical day consists of meeting at 8am and driving to the day’s destination in one of our RAD vans. Once at the trailhead, kids put on their backpacks it the trail to the destination of the day. The groups play group games, swim, eat lunch, become familiar with local flora and fauna, explore the area, and use their imaginations to have fun. A main focus of the program is to teach kids to appreciate and respect the environment while practicing “Leave No Trace” principles. After having the time of their lives, the campers will head back to the RAD van for the ride home – arriving around 4pm.
R.A.D. Camps has openings for drop-in sessions and we would love to take visiting kids between 7-17 out for a day of exploration in the region. Check out our summer 2018 availability here.
All R.A.D. Camps guides are required to complete a background check, attend “Mandatory Child Abuse Reporting” training, maintain current Wilderness First Responder or higher certifications, and be trained as professional lifeguards.
R.A.D. Camps does not discriminate against race, gender, religion, age, or physical/mental abilities.
