Riff Cold Brewed Coffee – is cold brewed just fancy talk for iced coffee? Cold brewed is how it’s made, not necessarily how it’s served. To put it simply, it’s brewed with cold water instead of hot water, which takes its own sweet time producing its own sweet coffee—noticeably smoother, more chocolaty, and less acidic than coffee brewed hot. Iced coffee, on the other hand, is actually hot brewed coffee, diluted, over ice. Which makes you wonder: could cold brewed coffee be served hot? The mind reels.

When we riff on an idea, we start with a question: What if? What if we brewed coffee cold, for a sweeter, smoother flavor? What if we poured it on tap? Into a glass, not a mug? What if we met for coffee in the evening? With friends, and maybe—gasp—without WiFi? What if it weren’t sacrilegious to drink our coffee decaffeinated, spiced, fruited, or even barrel fermented with wild yeast? Now we’re talking. Let’s Riff.
