This very popular, scenic trail circles around the lake. Todd Lake is on the edge of the Three Sisters Wilderness, so it’s a great chance for you to help protect this special place. Dogs must be on leash according to posted rules, though leashes may be removed to allow dogs to cool off or swim in the lake. Kids of all ages can enjoy the frogs and tadpoles, but be aware they’re a protected species under Oregon law and must not be removed from the lake. With its easy access, the trails and the parking lot can be very crowded, so plan accordingly. The trailhead signboard and map details other hiking options.
The Todd Lake Loop trail does not require a wilderness permit as it does not enter the Three Sisters Wilderness. However, permits are required to hike the nearby Todd Lake Trail #34 or if entering the Three Sisters Wilderness.
Parking here requires a recreation pass. These are available at Todd Lake, at USFS offices, and at various places around town, including the Visitor Center.
