If it is your first time skiing or riding, have no fear. Beginners can ride the Carrousel lift, located near the Sunrise Lodge, for FREE generally Thursday through Sunday and holiday periods mid-December through late-March. Pick up your free lift ticket at the Sunrise Lodge. Need some lessons? The mountain is fully serviced with enthusiastic PSIA/AASI certified instructors to get you cutting fresh tracks in no time. Versatile options for childcare, lessons, and lunch for the kids are also available.
If you need help navigating your way over 4,300 skiable acres, then be on the look out for the 50-plus official Mt. Bachelor Ambassadors in the red jackets. They are on-duty to show you a good time at Mt. Bachelor. They'll give you a unique tour of the mountain from the Rainbow lift chair all the way to Outback. If you don't happen to run into one of them on the slopes, you can request an orientation tour from the concierge desk on the second floor of the West Village Lodge. This service is completely free of charge.
For those looking for other alternatives for wintertime fun, try a two-hour session on the Snowblast Tubing Park featuring an 800-foot ride of your life. Or for those wanting to mush out into the wilderness, book a trip with Trail of Dreams dog sled tours where you will ride under snow-laden trees on winding forest paths, and even learn a bit about caring for the sled dogs. For the more ecologically minded, try the interpretive tour lead by a U.S. Forest Service Naturalist who will guide you though the ecology and geology of the land around Mount Bachelor.
