Disc Golf in Bend, Oregon

Ah disc golf, where you only have to carry a few lightweight discs, the price to play a game is usually a nice round number — free — and the “dress code” generally consists of shorts, t-shirts, and flip flops.

Disc golf in Bend is all about laid-back fun with a natural high desert atmosphere where everyone of any age and skill level is welcome. Disc golf is like traditional golf, but played with flying discs (aka Frisbees). Drivers and putters are still required, just in a flat saucer form made of plastic. And like golf with a ball, 9 and 18 hole courses are designed to be challenging and fun within natural landscapes. Bend courses are certainly no exception.

For the best disc golf courses in Bend, swing on over to Pine Nursery Park and Rockridge Park. Managed by Bend Parks and Recreation, these courses make for a perfect family-friendly activity or time outside with your amigos. They are typically played year-round for some awesome winter fun, depending on snow levels!

Pine Nursery disc golf course offers a solid mix of open and tight shots, long distance fairways, and nothing too wildly technical, making it an excellent place for beginners and pros. This 18 hole course sits among aromatic junipers and sage, natural lava outcroppings, and is mostly flat, so grab your flip flops in the summer. You’ll also want to grab sunscreen and water as there’s not a ton of shade here.

Rockridge disc golf course is an intimate 9-hole course with two tees per basket where you can perfect your putting or get your start in the disc golf scene. Kids, beginners, or those who want a quick round love this high desert course.

You’ll also find spectacular courses in outlying Central Oregon areas like Redmond, Sisters, and Mt. Bachelor.

If you’re interested in learning more about local courses, events, or tournaments, then look no further than the folks at Central Oregon Disc Golf Club. Or, if you need to pick up a few drivers and a putter, then over to Mountain Supply, REI, or Big 5 Sporting Goods.
