With the coronavirus pandemic sweeping the globe, please note that events, business hours, and local regulations are changing by the day. One thing that’s constant? Our need to protect each other and ourselves from COVID-19. Please practice social distancing and wash your hands often. The Oregon Health Authority requires face coverings in indoor public spaces, but we urge you to take it a step further and mask up anytime you’re in crowded parks or outdoor spaces. Thanks for doing your part to stop the spread of COVID.
Family Friendly Activities in Bend
So many things to do!
Hey, moms and dads—take a big, deep breath. We know it’s stressful planning a family vacation, especially with toddlers or teens or . . . okay, with kids of any age. But we want to share a little secret: No matter what you do in Bend, Oregon, we promise you’ll have a good time. There’s no better place on earth to reconnect with your family than the outdoor playground of the west. There are so many things to do in Bend, but the one thing that’s 100% guaranteed are a whole ‘lotta smiles.
Start your day of play with a hearty breakfast at one of our fab family-friendly restaurants. Fueled and ready to go, set out for a family hike to Tumalo Falls waterfall, or one of countless other wilderness wonderlands in the area. Need to cool off? Book a canoe or cave adventure with Wanderlust Tours, or schedule a whitewater rafting trip with Sun Country Tours (they also rent inner tubes if you’d rather float the river on your own time).
What to do next? Visit the Sun Mountain Fun Center, or check out the children’s wing of the Bend Public Library or the indoor pool at the Juniper Swim & Fitness Center. Don’t leave Bend without visiting the High Desert Museum which offers oodles of activities for all ages. Your kids will get up-close and personal with the wildlife that calls Central Oregon home, have a face-to-face conversation with early settlers of Bend, and witness an authentic sawmill from the 1800s.
