Playing the great swing music from the Big Band era of the 1930’s through the 1950’s, The Notables Swing Band is a 17-member band that provides rousing live big band music for dancing and entertainment in numerous venues throughout the Central Oregon area. Many of their band members remember those full sounds and infectious rhythms and in 2010 the band was formed to recreate this great music as well as a big variety of more recent favorites played with the traditional full sounds of a classic big band.The Harmonettes appear off and on with The Notables, taking you back to the Andrew Sisters’ recordings of the 40s. A non-profit entity, all of their performance fees, after expenses, are donated toward helping various school music programs in the area to buy and repair instruments, purchase music and also help pay for school band trips.
