Biggs Springs Campground
Camping East of Prineville
This tiny campground, open year-round, is a refreshing break from civilization. Its three campsites, each with its own fire pit/grill and picnic table, are located just across the meadow from Lytle Prairie. The campground offers excellent opportunities for photography, wildlife viewing and general relaxation. There is a fresh water spring located at the campground; however, the water is not managed or treated by the Forest Service and therefore should not be used for human consumption in any capacity. A short drive will bring you to the headwaters of the Wild and Scenic North Fork Crooked River, which offers opportunities for superb trout fishing. There is one shared vault toilet and there are no fees for camping, but it’s also first come, first served. Bring your jacket-the elevation is 4,845ft which means mornings and nights are brisk even on warm days! There are no hook-ups or any amenities at this campground. The turnaround in the campground could be tight if you have a large RV, but if the campground is unoccupied, then parking a trailer could be pretty easy.
