Gull Point Campground is approximately 45 miles south of Bend and is one of the most popular campgrounds along the gorgeous Cascade Lakes Highway. Located next to Wickiup Reservoir, Gull Point allows motorized boats and is an excellent spot for bird watching as well as fishing for Brown trout, Rainbow trout Brook trout, Kokanee and Coho salmon, whitefish, and chub. There are two large day use areas with boat launches (day use only people need a NW Forest Pass) with fish cleaning stations at each one. Gull Point maintains 74 single sites, 4 multiple sites, and 2 group sites, making it a popular destination for large family camping trips. This campground is in a mixed ponderosa and lodgepole pine forest type and many sites offer some seclusion, while others are located right on the shore of Wickiup Reservoir. Most water side sites cannot be reserved so campers hoping for those should arrive early in the week. There is an RV dump station just before the entry of the campground, the water system is pressurized, and there are flush toilet buildings and several newer vault style toilets. The campground is generally open from April through October; check the web site for current information about dates of operation, reservations, and fees.
