Ochoco Forest Camp is a quaint campground nestled in the Ochoco Mountain range on Ochoco Creek, just off of Forest Service Road 42. Nearby recreational activities include hiking or biking on Lookout Mountain Trail, and fishing and swimming at nearby Walton Lake. You know you are in the wild west here. After all, if you keep an eye out, you may see genuine wild horses; the Big Summit herd is known to frequent the area. This seasonal campground, dominated by old-growth Ponderosa pines, is first come, first served with tent and trailer camping, picnic tables in each site and toilets, all for $15 per night, per site. There is also a group pavilion that can be reserved for large group gatherings. The large picnic shelter sits in a quiet and secluded location at the far end of the campground. Groups of up to 75 people can enjoy picnicking and other recreational activities. Picnic tables and grills are provided at the shelter, and drinking water and vault toilets are available in the campground.
