Elk Lake has a picturesque setting, with the Three Sisters Mountains towering over the north end of the lake and Mt. Bachelor dominating the eastern horizon. Nestled in a diverse stand of mixed conifer forest, the brilliant, transparent water of the lake offers visitors a clear view to the bottom. Elk Lake gets a lot of traffic in summer months from locals and visitors alike, attracted by Elk Lake Resort, stand-up paddle boarding and the lake’s pleasant beaches and views. Located on the shore of the lake, Point Campground provides access to fishing, hiking, and horseback riding. There is a boat launch area within this campground, which is open seasonally and receives heavy usage, so consider making reservations ahead of time. There is a per night, per site fee of $14 and the campground has both trailer and tent camping (Maximum site spur length is 26 feet) in all sites, which are equipped with a picnic table and campfire ring with grill; the campground has drinking water and vault toilets available.
