Wyeth is the smallest campground in the Deschutes National Forest that is managed by Hoodoo Recreation Services and is located below the Wickiup Reservoir, 27 miles south on Highway 97, and then eight miles west on County Road 43. Its popularity stems from its easy access to the Deschutes River and the ability to fish easily from the banks here. It’s also a popular area both motorized and non-motorized boating with a boat launch used for this purpose. The five first-come-first-serve sites are large and isolated from one another, making it a perfect campground for a neighborhood overnight gathering or a family reunion without having to plan ahead to get a group site. Per night, per sight fees, are $10 for the first vehicle and $5 for each additional vehicle. Maximum site spur length is 26 feet, and there is no water available. A vault toilet is present. Fee collection is from May to November.
